Description

CY5-Sodium taurocholate is a fluorescent probe formed by covalently labeling the infrared fluorescent dye Cyanine 5 (CY5) onto sodium taurocholate molecules. Sodium taurocholate is an important component of bile acid salts, participating in lipid emulsification, cholesterol metabolism, and bile circulation. CY5 labeling allows for the direct tracking of bile acid absorption, distribution, and metabolism in in vivo and in vitro systems, providing a tool for studying the physiological functions and disease mechanisms of bile acids.

Physicochemical Properties and Structural Characteristics: CY5-Sodium taurocholate exhibits good water solubility and is stable in physiological buffers and cell culture media. The CY5 excitation peak is approximately 650 nm, and the emission peak is approximately 670 nm. It has high fluorescence intensity and excellent photostability, making it suitable for in vivo and in vitro imaging experiments. The labeling forms a covalent bond between the CV5 active group and the hydroxyl or amino groups of the taurocholate molecule, while maintaining the amphoteric molecular properties and physiological activity of the bile acid molecule. Its small molecular size facilitates the study of bile acid migration and absorption in cell membranes and blood.
