Micafungin Sodium (FK463, Mycamine) is an inhibitor of 1, 3-beta-D-glucan synthesis, used as an antifungal drug.
Micafungin is an antifungal agent that does not inhibit bacteria. Although micafungin does not inhibit the bacteria directly, it does promote the survival of G. mellonella[1]. Micafungin inhibits biofilm formation by impeding 1,3-β-D-glucan synthesis in Candida albicans[2].
