TRFS-green is a turn-on green fluorescent probe with high selectivity for thioredoxin reductase (TrxR). TRFS-green is widely used for imaging TrxR activity in live cells, with Ex/Em of 377nm/480nm, and 438nm/538nm under simulated physiological conditions[1]. TrxR is often overexpressed in many cancer cells, and its ablation can reverse the growth of various malignancies, reinforcing this selenoenzyme as a valid target for the development of novel anticancer drugs[2,3,4]. TRFS-green can facilitate the discovery of TrxR-targeting small molecules and advance the understanding of the physiological and pathological functions of TrxR in vivo[1,5].
