24, 25-Dihydroxy VD2 is a hydroxylated metabolite of vitamin D2, and a synthetic vitamin D analog. 24,25-Dihydroxy VD2 is produced from 25-hydroxyvitamin D2 by the action of renal 24-hydroxylase (CYP24A1) and represents the first step of vitamin D catabolism and an important auto-regulatory mechanism[1-2].
