AZD 4407 is a potent 5-lipoxygenase inhibitor.
In view of the powerful spasmogenic actions of leukotrienes in vascular and bronchial tissue, drugs which block their biosynthesis by inhibiting 5-lipoxygenase may have therapeutic potential in a variety of inflammatory conditions including inflammatory arthropothies, asthma, psoriasis, and inflammatory bowel disease. One such compound is AZD 4407 (ZD4407)[1].
