Acetaminophen metabolite 3-hydroxy-acetaminophen is produced via hydroxyl radical addition to the ortho-position of paracetamol [2]. Acetaminophen metabolite 3-hydroxy-acetaminophen can be used as an internal reference to develop a high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection method for analyzing the metabolites of acetaminophen in urine[3].
