NSC 44625 is an inhibitor of carbonic anhydrase II (CAII; Ki = 63 nM for the human enzyme).[1] It is selective for CAII over CAI (Ki = 5,800 nM for the human enzyme) but also inhibits β-carbonic anhydrase (Ki = 223 nM for the S. cerevisiae enzyme).
