gamma-Glu-Cys is a dipeptide produced by glutathione synthetase [1]. gamma-Glu-Cys can promote the secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-10) while reducing the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β) [2]. gamma-Glu-Cys is used to improve the prevention and treatment of oxidative stress, inflammatory responses, and neurodegenerative diseases [3].
