7-Azido-4-methylcoumarin is a highly sensitive and selective fluorescent hydrogen sulfide probe (excitation wavelength: 365nm; emission wavelength: 450nm). In the presence of H₂S, the aromatic azido moiety of 7-Azido-4-methylcoumarin can be selectively reduced. 7-Azido-4-methylcoumarin can participate in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) and strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC). 7-Azido-4-methylcoumarin can be used in research related to hydrogen sulfide detection and PLP-dependent enzyme activity monitoring[1-4].
