Sephadex LH 20 is a cross-linked dextran-based resin used in gel permeation, normal phase partition and adsorption chromatography of lipids, steroids, fatty acids, hormones, vitamins, etc. together with organic solvent mobile phases[1, 2]. Sephadex LH 20 is a hydroxypropyl derivative of Sephadex G-25. Its gel matrix is modified to significantly improve its compatibility in polar organic solvents or aqueous-organic mixed systems[3]. Sephadex LH 20 filler is widely used in the preparation and purification of natural products (such as steroids, terpenoids, lipids and low molecular weight peptides)[4, 5].
