Rifapentine-d9 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of rifapentine by GC- or LC-MS. Rifapentine is a long-lasting rifamycin antibiotic that inhibits DNA-dependent RNA polymerases and is effective against Mycobacterium species, including M. tuberculosis, as well as experimental infections caused by S. aureus, S. pyogenes group A, S. pneumoniae, and K. pneumoniae.1,2
