N-Acetylmannosamine 6-phosphate sodium salt is a metabolic intermediate in the breakdown of sialic acid (Neu5Ac) by Staplococcus aureus. N-Acetylmannosamine 6-phosphate sodium salt reduces the binding ability of transcriptional regulator NanR to DNA, and thus regulates the metabolic pathway of sialic acid.
