Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilizedIL-6 in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Stability
Lyophilized IL-6 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C . Upon reconstitution IL-6 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C .Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity
Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 determined by a cell proliferation assay using IL-6-dependent murine 7TD1 cells is less than 0.1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1.0 б┴ 10,000,000 IU/mg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2µm filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH 7.4.
