Hoechst 34580是一种DNA染料,最大激发波长为368nm,最大发射波长为437nm[1]。Hoechst 34580结合于DNA小沟的A–T富集区,可对活细胞和固定细胞的DNA进行染色,并兼容免疫组织化学应用[2]。Hoechst 34580能够穿过血脑屏障,并以0.86µM的IC50值抑制Aβ42的聚集[3]。Hoechst 34580可用于开发一种检测恶性疟原虫感染红细胞的荧光蓝光光学系统[4]。
