Autoinducing Peptide I is a quorum-sensing autoinducing peptide secreted by Staphylococcus aureus[1]. Autoinducing Peptide I acts as a specific agonist of the AgrC histidine kinase receptor and potently activates the agr system[2]. Upon binding and activating AgrC, Autoinducing Peptide I triggers the expression of virulence genes including RNAIII, and regulates the production of bacterial exotoxins, hemolysins, and other pathogenic factors[3]. Autoinducing Peptide I is widely used in the study of bacterial quorum sensing and virulence regulation mechanisms[4][5]. Autoinducing Peptide I is also used in studies of anti-infective mechanisms and novel antibacterial adjuvants, providing structural templates and target validation for the development of new antimicrobial therapies[6][7].
