Erythropoietin-alpha Human Recombinant is produced in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells by recombinant DNA technology is a single, polypeptide chain containing 166 amino acids and having a predicted molecular mass of 21,000 Dalton and apparent glycosylated molecular mass of 36-40kDa. EPO-a is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Epoetin-a in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Stability
Upon receiving, this product remains stable for up to 6 months at lower than -70℃, Upon reconstitution, the product should be stablefor up to 1 week at 4℃ or up to 3 months at -20℃. For long term storage it is recommended that a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA)be added, Avold repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity
ED50 < 1.0 ng/ml, measured in a cell proliferation assay using TF-1 human erythroleukemic cells, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1.0 × 10<sup>6</sup>units/mg
Formulation
Each mg of lyophilized powder contains 0.59 mg sodium citrate, 0.58 mg sodium chloride and 0.006 mg citric acid.
