Desloratadine-d4 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of desloratadine by GC- or LC-MS. Desloratadine is an orally bioavailable metabolite of the non-sedating antihistamine loratadine .1,2 It is a tricyclic antagonist of the histamine H1 receptor (Ki = 0.97 nM). Formulations containing desloratadine have been used in the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
