Deoxyadenosine 5-triphosphate is a deoxynucleotide triphosphate composed of an adenine base, a deoxyribose and three phosphate groups [1]. Deoxyadenosine 5‑triphosphate is one of the important “raw materials” for DNA polymerase to synthesize DNA chains in DNA replication or in vitro amplification [2]. Deoxyadenosine 5‑triphosphate regulates ribonucleotide reductase by binding to the active site, thereby participating in regulating the balance of deoxynucleoside triphosphate in cells [3].
In Escherichia coli, Deoxyadenosine 5‑triphosphate (400µM; 16h) stimulates bacterial biofilm formation [4].
