α-Melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) acid is an acid form of α-MSH.1 It selectively binds to melanocortin receptor 1 (MC1R) over MC3R, MC4R, and MC5R in COS-1 cells expressing the human receptors (Kis = 0.0012, 0.0829, 3.05, and 18.2 ?M, respectively).
