5-TAMRA-SE (5-TAMRA-NHS ester) (5-carboxytetramethylrhodamine succinimidyl ester) is a bright orange-red fluorescent dye with maximum excitation/emission wavelengths of approximately 555/580nm[1]. The NHS ester group of 5-TAMRA-SE can react specifically with primary amine groups and is widely used to label biomolecules such as proteins, peptides, and antibodies under weak alkaline conditions[2, 3]. 5-TAMRA-SE has high fluorescence intensity and good photostability, making it suitable for applications in fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry[4, 5]. 5-TAMRA-SE is a cell membrane permeable dye that can enter the bacterial cytoplasm and label metabolically active living bacteria[6].
