Description

4-Methylumbelliferyl Caprylate is substrate that fluoresces upon hydrolysis of the ester bond [1]. 4-Methylumbelliferyl Caprylate is often used as an indicator, which exhibits a relatively high fluorescence intensity at a pH of 6.8. and is used for the identification of Salmonella, with high specificity, sensitivity and usability[2-3]. 4-Methylumbelliferyl Caprylate has been widely used in the development of high-throughput fluorescent esterase activity detection methods for evaluating the risk of polyethylene glycol degradation during the development of biopharmaceuticals[4].
