Zinc (Zn)-fluorophore 1(Zinpyr-1, ZP1), a fluorescent probe for zinc detection, emits bright fluorescence has been used extensively for zinc labeling (Ex/Em: 515nm/531nm) (ε =79,000/M/cm; pKa = 8.4; Φ = 0.38). Zinpyr-1 is compatible with epifluorescent, confocal, and two-photon microscopy, as well as flow cytometry, and can be used for live and fixed cell applications. Zinpyr-1 is widely applied in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo materials and models from animals, plants, and bacteria, such as human serum, arabidopsis roots, rats, and Escherichia coli.[1]. Zinpyr-1 is composed of a fluorescein-derivative reporter and metal-binding units, enabling Zinpyr-1 to bind Zn2+ while emissing fluoresce signal [2].
