Trovafloxacin is a broad spectrum antibiotic that inhibits the uncoiling of supercoiled DNA in bacteria by blocking the activity of topoisomerase IV (IC50 = 3.02 ?g/ml) and DNA gyrase (IC50 = 7.13 ?g/ml).1
