Sulfacytine is a short-acting sulfonamide antibiotic. Sulfacytine is active against bacteria and is an effective agent for the research of acute uncomplicated urinary tract infections[1].

Sulfacytine is rapidly absorbed and excreted in the urine almost entirely as the unchanged active form[1].
