S Tag Peptide, a 15-amino acid peptide derived from ribonuclease A, binds to S protein to regenerate active enzyme with a Kd of >10-9M [1]. S Tag Peptide serves as a fusion tag for recombinant proteins, facilitating detection by a rapid and sensitive homogeneous assay and by colorimetric detection in Western blots [2]. S Tag Peptide is a tunable peptide tag that allows functional proteins to be cross-linked at specific sites [3]. A protein purification S-tag fusion system can be developed by using S Tag Peptide in antibody and epitope labeling techniques, which allows for automation and makes the system easier to use in a variety of high-throughput screening scenarios [4].
