Recainam (Wy-42362) is an orally active anti-arrthmic agent with Class I electropsiological properties. Recainam suppresses complex ventricular arrthmias. Racainam exhibits a good pharmacokinetic character in Sprague Dawley rats.
Racainam (20 mg/kg, i.v.) exhibits a good pharmacokinetic profil with an AUC0-inf of 4.1 μg·h/mL, a half-time T1/2 of 0.6 h, MRT of 0.6 h, a clearance of 4.9 L/kg·h and a distribution Vss of 3.2 L/kg[1].
