Oxytocin parallel dimer TFA is the disulfide-bridged homo peptide dimer. Oxytocin dimer has oxytocin and vasopressin-like activity with less toxic than oxytocin.
The parallel and antiparallel homo/hetero bis-cystine dimers of oxytocin and deamino-oxytocin show biological activities ranged from 0.2% to 6% that of oxytocin[1].
Oxytocin dimer (iv; single dose) shows acute toxicity (LD50=43 mg/kg) is less than that of oxytocin (LD50=25 mg/kg) in rats[2].
