Octakis-(6-bromo-6-deoxy)-γ-cyclodextrin is a perbrominated γ-cyclodextrin at the primary side. Octakis-(6-bromo-6-deoxy)-γ-cyclodextrin is also a commonly used intermediate in the modification of cyclodextrin[1].
Octakis-(6-bromo-6-deoxy)-γ-cyclodextrin is stacked head-to-head along the a-axis forming columns. Octakis-(6-bromo-6-deoxy)-γ-cyclodextrin has a feature that alternates drophobic and drophilic layers are formed in the crystal[1].
