Nitrofurazone-13C,15N2 (Nitrofural-13C,15N2) is the 13C and 15N labled Nitrofurazone . Nitrofurazone is a potential antibiotic that can be used topically to treat wounds, burns, ulcers and skin infections to combat various microorganisms and to prepare surfactants. Nitrofurazone may affect the ecosystem function in Marine environment and affect the functional processes of epiphytic fauna.
Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
