Meropenem-d6 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of meropenem by GC- or LC-MS. Meropenem is a β-lactam antibiotic that is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (MICs = 0.008-0.13 μg/ml).1 Similar to other β-lactam antibiotics, meropenem inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis but, in contrast to other β-lactam antibiotics, it is highly resistant to degradation by β-lactamases.1,2
