6α-Methyl-11β-hydroxyprogesterone is a synthetic glucocorticoid which has been used in the treatment of inflammatory eye diseases. 6α-Methyl-11β-hydroxyprogesterone is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties which has been discontinued in the United States. The structure of 6α-Methyl-11β-hydroxyprogesterone is very similar to progesterone. Neither progestogenic nor androgenic activity has been demonstrated for or attributed to medrysone [1, 2].
