Lactoyl Phenylalanine is a secondary metabolite formed by the action of cytoplasmic non-specific dipeptidase (CNDP 2) between lactic acid and phenylalanine [1]. Lactoyl Phenylalanine can reduce obesity and improve glucose tolerance by inhibiting appetite and maintaining energy balance [2].
In vivo, Lactoyl Phenylalanine (50mg/kg/d; i.p.; 30 days) specifically inhibits energy intake in obese mice without affecting energy expenditure pathways, and improves blood sugar balance, while these effects are not observed in lean mice [2]. Lactoyl Phenylalanine (10, 20, 30mg/kg/day; intravenous) treatment for 7 days can significantly improve the motor function of mice and significantly reduce fat accumulation at the injured site [3].
