Z-Gly-Gly-Leu-AMC is the substrate of the ClpP1 and ClpP2 enzymes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and is used to detect the enzyme activity when the activating peptide Z-Leu-Leu is present [1]. Z-Gly-Gly-Leu-AMC is a substrate of the proteasome and is commonly used to determine the multicatalytic protease complex activity in various components of Trypanosoma brucei brucei [2]. Z-Gly-Gly-Leu-AMC is often used as a hydrolysis substrate to screen for activation peptides of protease HslV, in order to study the activation mechanism of the proteasome[3].
