Enramycin A is a lipopeptide antibiotic that has been found in S. fungicidicus.[1] It also inhibits avian myeloblastosis virus reverse transcriptase by 50% when used at a concentration of 10 µg/ml in a cell-free assay.[2] Formulations containing enramycin A have been used as feed additives to prevent bacterial necrotic enteritis in livestock.
