Decanoyl-L-carnitine-d9 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of decanoyl-L-carnitine by GC- or LC-MS. Decanoyl-L-carnitine is an ester derivative of L-carnitine. It increases the formation of C24 fatty acid intermediates, as well as docosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acid in rat hepatocytes.1
