DB818 is a potent inhibitor of Homeobox A9 (HOXA9). HOXA9 is a transcription factor regulating haematopoiesis and leukaemia cell proliferation, involving in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). DB818 inhibits AML cell lines growth, induces apoptosis.
DB818 (12.5 mg/kg, 25 mg/kg; s.c.; once daily for 4 days) completely cures Parasitemia in mice infected with B. microti. at dose of 25 mg/kg, while cures 2/3 mice at 12.5 mg/kg[1]. DB818 results recrudescence occurring on mice around day 20 postinfection[1].
