[cPP1-7,NPY19-23,Ala31,Aib32,Gln34] - Pancreatic Polypeptide (human) (acetate)

[cPP^1-7,NPY^19-23,Ala³¹,Aib³²,Gln³⁴] - Pancreatic polypeptide is an agonist of the neuropeptide Y (NPY) receptor Y₅.¹ It inhibits cAMP production induced by forskolin in HEK293 cells expressing the human Y₅ receptor (EC₅₀ = 17 nM). [cPP^1-7,NPY^19-23,Ala³¹,Aib³²,Gln³⁴] - Pancreatic polypeptide selectively binds to Y₅ (IC₅₀ = 0.24 nM in HEK293 cells expressing the human receptor) over Y₁, Y₂, and Y₄ (IC₅₀s = 530, >500, and 51 nM, respectively, in BHK-21 cells expressing the human receptors). In vitro, [cPP^1-7,NPY^19-23,Ala³¹,Aib³²,Gln³⁴] - pancreatic polypeptide increases VEGF levels, as well as endothelial branch length and the number of branch points, in 4T1 murine mammary carcinoma cells in a concentration-dependent manner.² It induces relaxation of vasopressin-precontracted rat mesenteric arteries when used at a concentration of 1 µM.³ Intracranial administration of [cPP^1-7,NPY^19-23,Ala³¹,Aib³²,Gln³⁴] - pancreatic polypeptide (0.2 and 2 nmol/animal) increases food intake in rats.¹
