Calcitonin salmon (Salmon calcitonin) is a calcitonin drug derived from salmon [1]. Calcitonin salmon is used to treat bone metabolism disorders and has the effects of inhibiting bone resorption and lowering blood calcium [2-3].
In Articular cartilage explants, Calcitonin salmon (0.1-100nM; 16d) stimulates proteoglycan synthesis in human articular cartilage explants [4]. In C6 cells, all concentrations of Calcitonin salmon (3µg/mL, 6µg/mL, 12µg/mL, 25µg/mL, 50µg/mL; 1h) significantly enhanced cell viability after glutamate-induced cytotoxicity [5]. In HBV-163 cells, Calcitonin salmon (0.03-3mU/mL; 48h) increases the concentration of insulin-like growth factors in serum-free cultures of human osteoblast-line cells [6]. In SH-SY5Y cells, treatment with Calcitonin salmon (50nM, 100nM; 24h) inhibit cell viability [7].
In male mice, acute Calcitonin salmon (5μg/kg; ip; single injection) administration attenuates nicotine-induced locomotor stimulation and dopamine release in the NAc shell [8]. In animal model of type 2 diabetes, oral administration of Calcitonin salmon (0.5mg/kg, 1mg/kg, 2mg/kg; po; 10 weeks) attenuated the development of hyperglycemia in severely diabetic zucker diabetic fatty rats in a dose-dependent manner [1]. In CD1 male mice, Calcitonin salmon (2.5IU/kg; ip; single injection) can enhance the analgesic effect of antidepressants that reduce 5-HT uptake [9]. In male albino mice CD1, injection of Calcitonin salmon (40IU/kg; ip; single injection) induces analgesia in mice [10].

在雄性小鼠中,急性给予Calcitonin salmon(5μg/kg;ip;单次注射)可减弱尼古丁诱导的运动刺激和NAc壳中的多巴胺释放 [8]。在2型糖尿病动物模型中,口服Calcitonin salmon(0.5mg/kg、1mg/kg、2mg/kg;po;10周)可剂量依赖性地减缓重度糖尿病Zucker型糖尿病肥胖大鼠的高血糖发展 [1]。在CD1雄性小鼠中,Calcitonin salmon(2.5IU/kg;ip;单次注射)可增强降低5-HT摄取的抗抑郁药的镇痛作用 [9]。在CD1雄性白化小鼠中,注射鲑鱼降钙素(40IU/kg;ip;单次注射)可诱导小鼠镇痛 [10]。
