C18 Ceramide-d7 (d18:1-d7/18:0) is a deuterated (d7) labeled C18 Ceramide isotope internal standard. Ceramide is a type of sphingolipid core molecule composed of a sphingosine (often d18:1) linked to a fatty acid via an amide bond[1]. Ceramides have been implicated in mediating or regulating numerous central cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation and senescence, stress responses, apoptosis, and inflammation[2]. Harmful stimuli can activate ceramides, leading to a variety of pathological conditions[2].
