4-Isopropylcatechol is a potent and irreversible cutaneous depigmenting agent. 4-Isopropylcatechol significantly inhibits protein biosynthesis in mouse melanoma cells containing high levels of tyrosinase. 4-Isopropylcatechol can be use to study perpigmentation of skins.
